Relocated to Southwest Florida
1990 and founded a new mental health multi-specialty group
with mind/body/spirit orientation—Gulf Coast Health Services, Inc. with offices
in Venice and Sarasota, Fl.; Ordained in 1997 to support spirituality
in medicine; Radio and television broadcaster regarding health
and personal growth education; Top Psychiatrist, Sarasota-Bradenton,
Castle Connolly national annual publication of Top Docs, and
Sarasota Magazine annual Top Docs issue, four years of its
running to 2007; Medical writer and lecturer/workshop leader. Ordinary

Robert J. Mignone graduated Cum Laude Amherst
College in 1962. He attended Duke Medical School and graduated
Alpha Omega Alpha in 1966. Thereafter, Internship Internal
Medicine, Yale New Haven Hospital 1967; Residency Neurology,
Cornell New York Hospital in 1968; National Institutes of
Health, Clinical Neurology in 1968 to 1970; Psychiatric Residency
Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School 1970
to 1973; Chief Resident 1973. Thereafter, practiced in the
Boston and Salem, Massachusetts areas, teaching at Massachusetts
General Hospital.
Interests include General Psychiatry, Stress
Medicine, Pain Medicine and Sports Medicine. All the psychotherapies,
including group, individual group and family were practiced
and taught to Residents and Medical Students at Massachusetts
General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Came to Florida
in 1989.

Has practices in Venice and Sarasota, Florida.
Gulf Coast Health Services, the clinical practice, is a
multi-disciplined integrated approach to mental health
care featuring general psychiatry, nurse practitioners,
clinical psychology, social work, pastoral counseling and
complementary medicines such as herbs, acupuncture and
massage. Interests address all age groups with the mind/body/spirit
orientation toward healing.

Dr. Mignone is an Ordained Minister. He
has been a teacher and an academician holding clinical
faculty appointments, first at Harvard Medical School and
in recent years at University of South Florida. He is a
physician broadcaster and has done work over the years
in radio and television. He has his own production company,
Healthsmart Productions, Inc. designed to produce educational
materials around health and personal growth.
